Amarone is a true world excellence, whose productive cradle is the VALPOLICELLA!
The name comes from the word 'bitter', adopted to distinguish it from Recioto della Valpolicella, a wine with a much sweeter taste. Amarone was born almost by chance, by mistake you could say. An unintentional error occurred during the production of Recioto.
The name was coined in 1936, when a cellarman found a barrel of Recioto that had been forgotten in the cellar for some time. He decided to taste the content and, with his refined palate and exceptional nose, he immediately realized that he had on his hands liquid gold ruby color. Being more bitter than Recioto but not an Amaro, it was called AMARONE.
The tasting includes 8 glasses, starting from 5 different types of Amarone, starting with a young vintage a 2020 passing to two different types of vintage 2018, passing to a reserve 2015 and our precious reserve 2013, passing through a red Veneto IGT Passito which boasts the same production methodology or the technique of aspiration of the previous and then two different types of Recioto della Valpolicella, in fact the best recioto of valpolicella classified in 2025 at the palio del recioto. Recioto is a sweet wine, but very significant because of it the concept of 'amarone' was born.
To best accompany the tasting of these elegant products, we propose a selection of meats and cheeses typical of our territory.
