Winery Description:

Castello di Perno is a historic estate located in the hamlet of Perno close to Monforte d’Alba in the Langhe region of Piedmont.

The castle, originally a medieval defensive stronghold built by the Falletti family, transformed over centuries into a residence and cultural landmark.

Its ownership passed to Giulio Einaudi, one of Italy’s most influential publishers, in the late 1970s, who used it as a secondary headquarters and a creative refuge for celebrated Italian writers like Primo Levi.

Since 2012, the castle is owned by Gregorio Gitti, who restored it for cultural uses and initiated a premium winemaking project centered in the Castelletto area. The project launched in 2013 focuses on organic viticulture with vineyards in renowned crus producing some of the finest Nebbiolo grapes in the region.

Visitors can enjoy immersive cultural experiences as well as wine tastings in the atmospheric castle setting.
