Italy, Tuscany, Sassotondo - Ciliegiolo unveiled

https://www.winera.com/web/image/product.template/922/image_1920?unique=b3ca988
We have been growing the ciliegiolo grape in Pitigliano since 1990 and we make our wines with it since 1997 with the help of our friend an enologist Attilio Pagli!

Our ciliegiolo wines, vinified and aged in many different ways, are the result of this long and fruitful collaboration in an environment that is marked by the volcanic tufo rock!

When you come to visit us, get ready for a trip to the countryside, immersed in the nature of rural Tuscia. Everything revolves around wine and the vineyard, so we recommend comfortable outdoor clothing. Tastings take place, depending on the weather conditions, under our patio or in the air-conditioned tasting room.

We will first visit our underground cellar and we will tell you about our environment friendly practices both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
We will then try five of our wines all made with ciliegiolo grapes and we’ll illustrate the different vinification and aging techniques that include the use of steel, wood, and clay. Some of them are produced in very limited editions.

The wines will be: Lady Marmalade (ciliegiolo old style rosè,), Sassotondo Rosso (our daily red wine), Poggio Pinzo (ciliegiolo with long maceration on the skins in a terracotta vessel), Monte Calvo (ciliegiolo vinified in a “gentle” way, peppery), San Lorenzo (our flagship ciliegiolo, old vine, prize winner, an icon).

The wines will be paired with selected savory pastries from Flamigni, an innovative project that aims to enhance the effects of the right gastronomic pairing.

The winery has been certified organic since 1994, we are part of the VolcanicWines and Independent Winegrowers circuit.
