Winery Description:
Honrado Vineyards is a family winery located in Vila de Frades, Alentejo, dedicated to the ancient Roman tradition of Talha wine—fermentation and aging of grapes in large clay amphorae.
This millennial technique has been passed down through generations, with António Honrado learning from his great-uncle and later partnering with his son Ruben, who brings fresh ideas and global experience to the project.
The estate centers around the Adega-Museu Cella Vinaria Antiqua, a beautifully restored 16th-century winery-museum that serves both as a production site and cultural hub for Talha wine.
Honrado produces natural, organic Talha wines that express the unique terroir of Alentejo with minimal intervention, preserving authenticity and tradition. The family also operates País das Uvas, a traditional restaurant famed for its genuine Alentejo cuisine, perfectly paired with their wines.
